As professionals in the medical field we often fall short in taking our own advice, which in the end affects our own health and our lives. We give parents brochures and pamphlets to supplement the conversations we have. It's called anticipatory guidance. As adults have access to information from a myriad of sources including books and magazines, resources online, and our associations. If anything we probably have an abundance of information with a lack of taking the next steps towards using the information to live our best life. This is true for our health, our wealth, and our overall well being.

You have to be careful what you drink because it is easy to get carried away with beer sometimes, trust me I know. So when I first retired, I took to completing crossword puzzles every day, feeling that maybe I needed some mental stimulation now that I didn't have the mental challenges of my previous occupation. However, crosswords are essentially boring and not my thing at all. Or maybe I'm just no good at them. Then in an email I was alerted to a website that provides mentally stimulating puzzles and logic tests. I did a free trial of some of the services. However, I found it a bit stressful, and didn't think I really wanted to join up and pay the monthly fee, so I didn't pursue it.

Spring is one of the best times of the year to begin new, healthy habits. Implementing all of these fun tips at once could be a little overwhelming, but pick one that really appeals to you, and try it as soon as possible!
